Project Update | April 2026

Framing 

We are well into framing on the Legacy Mountain Estates project, and the scale of this custom home build is really starting to show. The aerial gives you a good look at the full footprint as it sits on the site. The structural steel and wood framing are already communicating the bold, modern feel the design calls for, and the way the structure steps across the Huntsville hillside is coming together exactly as planned.

The crew shot also captures something worth stopping on. With Pineview Reservoir and the snow-capped mountains of Ogden Valley sitting right in the background, you get a real sense of what made this site so special from the start. Project Update | August 2026 — Exterior Brick & Window Installation
 
The Legacy Mountain Estates project has crossed into one of the more satisfying stages of a custom home build. Brick is going up on the exterior and windows are being installed, which means the structure is finally starting to read as a finished home rather than a frame.
 
 
 
The aerial gives the clearest picture of where things stand. Compared to the framing shots from April, the structure now reads as a home rather than a skeleton, and you can see how it steps across the Huntsville hillside with Pineview Reservoir sitting behind it.
 
The Exterior Comes to Life
 
The brick work is where the material palette shows up for the first time. Up to this point you have been looking at steel and wood framing and imagining the rest. Now the texture, color, and weight of the exterior are visible against the landscape, and the bold, modern lines the design has been pointing toward are unmistakable.
 
 
Window installation is happening in parallel, and this is a stage our team pays particularly close attention to. On a custom home in Ogden Valley, the window openings do a lot of work . They frame the reservoir and Wasatch Mountain views that made this site worth building on. They flood the interior with the natural light the design depends on. And they are one of the most important details in the home’s thermal envelope.
 
At the high elevation of Northern Utah, with extreme snow load and hard freeze-thaw cycles, how a window is flashed, sealed, and installed into the wall assembly determines how the home performs for decades. Getting the building dried in ahead of winter is a milestone worth hitting, and getting it dried in correctly is the part that shows up in every winter storm afterward.
 
 
Crews are also backfilling a substantial retaining wall on the site. Building on a hillside like this one means engineering the ground before you can build anything on it, and this wall is what creates the usable grade and protects the structure and outdoor living areas above it.
