An Upcoming Custom Home in Shelter Hill

Peterson Builders is excited to announce a stunning new custom home coming to Shelter Hill at Powder Haven. Designed by Bertoldi Architects, this residence brings a clean, contemporary mountain sensibility to one of the most sought-after ski-in, ski-out settings in Northern Utah.

A Vision Coming to Life

Named Villa Del Cielo, this approximately 7,851-square-foot residence is designed to make the most of its mountain setting. The architecture pairs vertical wood siding with a stone base, low-slope shed roofs, and oversized windows that frame the landscape at every turn.

The downhill elevation opens generously to the outdoors, with a walkout lower level and a covered deck built for long mountain evenings. Bertoldi is carrying the design through the interiors as well.

Project Update | October 2026

Excavation Underway

Excavation has started on Villa Del Cielo, the custom home Peterson Builders is building in Shelter Hill at Powder Haven. This is the first major step on site, and it sets up everything that follows.

Crews are digging out the footprint for the foundation and the walkout lower level. On a sloped mountain lot like this one, the excavation has to be shaped to the grade of the land. Getting the depths and grades right now is what lets the foundation, the walkout, and the drainage around the home work the way the plans call for.

Building at Powder Mountain also means working with a short construction season. Getting the ground work done this fall puts the project in a strong position heading into winter.

Next up: footings and foundation walls.
