Seeing It Before It’s Built: Peterson Builders at Walk Your Plans
Building a custom home is one of the biggest decisions a person will ever make, and one of the hardest parts is trying to visualize a space that doesn’t exist yet. That’s why our team recently joined a client,
Liz Powell Design, and
Onyx Design Collective at
Walk Your Plans Salt Lake City in Lehi, Utah. The experience was worth every mile of the drive.
What Is Walk Your Plans?
Walk Your Plans is an immersive facility that projects your floor plans and elevations at full scale, allowing you to physically walk through your home before a single foundation is poured. You experience the actual dimensions of each room, the flow from space to space, and the true feel of the layout in a way that no rendering or blueprint can replicate. For anyone in the middle of designing a custom home, it is a game changer.
Why We Go
Our client was somewhere in the middle of their building journey, and before moving forward, the full team gathered at Walk Your Plans to make sure every decision made up to that point felt right. Peterson Builders, Liz Powell Design, and Onyx Design Collective walked every inch of the plans together alongside the client as a group.
The value showed up immediately. Walking the space at full scale helped confirm what was working and surfaced a few things worth revisiting. Those are conversations that are far easier to have in a projection facility than on a jobsite mid-construction. Fewer surprises down the road means a smoother build, a better outcome, and a client who feels confident every step of the way.
The Peterson Standard
This is part of what sets Peterson Builders apart. We don’t just hand off plans and start building. We invest in the process alongside our clients, making sure the vision is clear before construction begins. Taking the time to visit a facility like Walk Your Plans is one of the ways we do that.
If you are thinking about building a custom home in Ogden Valley, Huntsville, Eden, or anywhere in Northern Utah, we would love to show you what that process looks like from start to finish.
