After an early snowfall brought construction to a temporary halt last fall, work has officially resumed on one of our most exciting custom homes—an elevated mountain retreat nestled in the Powder Mountain West lots, just above one of our previous builds.

Now that the snow has melted and the mountain roads are once again accessible, our team is back on-site, moving swiftly toward our October deadline—when ski season returns and the roads transform into ski runs.
Designed by Purcell Timber Frame Homes, this residence captures the essence of refined mountain living. With engineering by Vector Engineering and Apex Engineering, the structure is built to meet the unique demands of its high-altitude environment while showcasing standout architectural features, including a dramatic sloped roof that mirrors the surrounding peaks.

Spanning three levels, the home offers expansive views of Powder Mountain through floor-to-ceiling windows that bring natural light and scenery into every corner. Inside, the layout is thoughtfully curated for both relaxation and entertaining. From cozy nooks ideal for board games and fireside chats, to a stunning dining area perfect for gathering after a day on the slopes, every space reflects mountain luxury.

One of the home’s most unique features is a custom ski lift chair, repurposed as a whimsical design element and conversation piece. A glass and steel fireplace anchors the main living area, blending modern elegance with rugged, alpine charm.
With just a few months before snow returns, our team is working diligently to bring this stunning retreat to life—combining expert craftsmanship, creative design, and a deep appreciation for the mountain lifestyle.
Stay tuned as this project continues to unfold on one of Utah’s most iconic peaks.
The exclusive ski retreat at Powder Mountain represents a unique vision for luxury living in a mountainous environment. Designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings, this custom home aims to provide an unparalleled experience for its future occupants, emphasizing both comfort and connection to the outdoors.
Incorporating sustainable building practices and innovative architectural designs, the project not only prioritizes aesthetics but also functionality. The retreat will feature open spaces that invite natural light, alongside high-end finishes that cater to the discerning tastes of future residents, making it a perfect getaway for ski enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Construction in mountainous regions presents a unique set of challenges, particularly with the unpredictable weather conditions that can affect timelines and accessibility. The recent early snowfall forced a temporary halt, highlighting the importance of adaptive planning and quick response strategies in the construction process.
Our team worked closely with engineering partners to develop solutions that accommodate these challenges, such as enhanced drainage systems and robust structural designs that can withstand heavy snowfall. These measures ensure that the project remains on track while maintaining the integrity and safety of the construction site.
The design of the ski retreat is characterized by its dramatic sloped roof, which not only enhances the visual appeal but also serves a functional purpose by allowing snow to slide off easily. This feature exemplifies the careful consideration given to the unique climate of the area, ensuring that the home remains safe and accessible year-round.
Additionally, the interior will showcase expansive windows that provide breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, creating a sense of harmony with nature. The open floor plan is designed to facilitate gatherings, making it an ideal space for family and friends to enjoy after a day on the slopes.
As construction progresses, we are committed to keeping our clients and interested parties informed about key milestones and updates. Our current timeline aims for completion ahead of the upcoming ski season, ensuring that the retreat is ready for its inaugural winter.
